Spring blooms in Texas Hill Country as the Wichita Nation heads to Fort Richardson State Park — a stunning combination of Texas frontier history and beautiful Lost Creek Reservoir. The bluebonnets are typically in full bloom, making this one of the most photogenic campouts of the year.
Fort Richardson was the northernmost Texas frontier fort built after the Civil War. Boys can explore the historic fort buildings, learn about the Buffalo Soldiers, and hike the beautiful waterfall trail to Lost Creek Reservoir. Spring fishing is also excellent here — bass and catfish are running!
